In Bihar I came across a few newly issued licences where 200 shots and 50 balls are allowed as maximum purchase in a year but maximum to be possessed at any time is a ridiculous 10.

Wonder what theory works out in this.

Even in lawless Bihar, seldom is a crime ever committed with civil licenced weapons.

What the extremists and criminals carry the most are actually PB stuff like .38 and .303 and 7.62 mm SLR.

Where is all this coming from and getting into their hands ?

Does it not put a law abiding citizen at a disadvantage ?

Well in Delhi I have seen licences with 5000 at a time and 10000 in a year.

Another licence I recently saw was 1000 at a time .The licencee did not look like a sportsman and I asked him what he did....well he had a fish farm and wanted 32 pistol rounds to scare ducks that ate his fish.

He stayed in UP and carried a Delhi licence with Delhi and UP as area allowed.Law surely can be kind to you also. How about opening a fish pond instead of trying to compete in sports.

I would have thought killing ducks would be illegal, whether or not they ate your fish...
Or is he firing blank ammo to scare them away?

It written clearly that he kill only those ducks who ate his fish.

Well for that matter all licences of my brothers, uncles who are NRAI members have been ncreased from anything between 400 to 5000 depending on the type of licence, but a seperate application had been made in each case.

My fathers shotgun licence issued in 1967 still has unlimited quota on it.

eh eh bhai i think that one has a right to protect ones fishes and druthers if wild predators are about. :D Thus a sound reason for applying and issuing licenses.
