Anyone here affected by the Delhi Police order on 22 rifles?

Post by mundaire » Wed Dec 08, 2021 1:53 pm

Which has, in one swift move, removed the exemption granted to members of NRAI / other recognised associations/ clubs in regards to keeping an extra 22 rifle (over and above the current limit of 2 firearms)?

If so, please send me a PM.

There is a case pending which is to come up for judgment in January 2022 regarding the same, it was in the news a few weeks ago.

That's correct, but that would only provide relief to those plaintiffs, not to everyone. Hence my post here :)

If the judgement in that case is given involving interpretation of the Arms law and Rules framed thereunder , the same would be binding in every application with similar circumstances.

Many cities have allowed 22 Rifle as a third weapon if you are NRAI or any rifle association member but in Delhi they have not allowed.
I recently had to deposit my .22 rifle as it was a third weapon even after being life member of NRAI. Tried to convince them but they ver not ready to renew my arms license till third weapon was deposited.
