Delhi Police Licencing has started issuing Smart Card Arms Licences to Licence Holders of Delhi. (See attachment)
A new ammunition issuance system has been introduced on their website for reporting issue of ammunition for arms and ammunition Dealers. All Licence holders are also directed to keep record of use of ammunition and submit a declaration to ammunition dealer before buying next quota of ammo. (Attached Herewith)
Licence holder having All India validity can also buy ammunition from arms and ammunition dealers from outside state of Delhi. But ammunition dealers are not very clear if this ammunition issuance system is applicable for Dealers in Delhi or for Dealers all over India. Many dealers are refusing retail sales to Delhi Licence Holders till more clarity comes. More states are going online in next phase of computerization.

Yes, certainly it’s an issue currently for those who hold card based license from Delhi and are looking to purchase ammunition from other states where their license is valid. Hoping it will be resolved as soon as more states onboard this digital infrastructure.
