Hi,
1. New here. We own a 0.22 caliber rifle passed down from my father who died recently. We use it for religious purposes mostly.
2. Trying to get an Exemption Certificate for it since I am from Coorg and don't need a license.
3. The Exemption Cert is issued by the District Magistrate but where can we get the application form in Bangalore?
The learned Additional Advocate General has placed before this Court the copy of the application for exemption certificate. The details which are required in the prescribed format includes all minute details in respect of the person applying for exemption, whether he belongs to kodava race; whether he is a Jamma tenure-holders; particulars of jamma holdings; the nature of the arm and ammunition; description of the arms and ammunition for which exemption is sought; whether he has been convicted for any offence, if so, the offence and the sentence; whether he has been ordered to execute a bond under Chapter VII of Cr.P.C for keeping the peace or good behavior; and whether he has been prohibited under the Arms Act, 1959 or any other law from possessing the arms, ammunition, meaning thereby the same requirement which is required for possessing a licence.

Hi Vivek, deposit the rifle immediately in the local district armoury or any gun shops that keep deposits.Carry with you, your father's exemption certificate.
As far as getting an exemption certificate in your name is concerned I believe you have to apply for it in Kodagu.
