I was particularly happy with the 50m revolver (it was as if I was shooting the 50m FP on the same target but with a heavier weapon, a heavier trigger and a heavier recoil for sure, .44 cal) and the percussion pistol at 25m where I scored 96/100. In fact, I shot the 1st shot, felt happy and looked through the scope; it was a 10. Then on I kept on shooting on my SOA without looking through the scope. In the 5th shot, I was a bit unhappy; looked through the scope to verify; there were four 10s and one 9. I deduced that the 9 might have resulted my unhappiness. But immaturity took over me (4 tens out of 5 shots) and shot three 9s. Then I gathered myself, cooled myself down, went back to the disciplined SOA and more importantly stopped thinking about the impacts. At the end of the match, I was happy with my work but found one 7, one 8, one 9 and two 10s all in a vertical line at 12 O'clock position. Experts explained later on to me that during the match the Sun appeared brightly from behind the clouds and lit the targets very brightly which in turn got the impacts higher up. There I learnt that I should have at least looked through the scope and perhaps I could have compensated the zone. Anyway, I have learnt something again

Oh yess Sir!!!! Thank you very very much to be back with us in real actionGentleman,
I have been inspired by Dev and Tirpassion to try and qualify as a 'renown shot' . Also to jump start this thread which was in the doldrums for quite some time.
My Goal: To shoot the renown shot category score, in order to take advantage of the liberalised import procedures.
Dear Sir,Mental Strength:
1. I only have to think about my FP training and my will power to start shooting and achieve my goal becomes FEROCIOUS, ROCK HARD, Come hell or high water, this fish is gonna swim upstream to its goal.
That is EGGJAHCTLY what I wanted to achieve with my FP posts. You can understand the feeling, my friend.tirpassion wrote:It is raining right now and the temperature outside should be +4°C and I am going out to run my 4km...

Todays Diary
1. 10 pushups (simple not on fingers)
2. Stretching exercises.
3. Four sets of 5 reps with stone in fist to develop strength of muscles in both hands. Alternated each set with both left and right. The exercise (partial windmilling) Lifting the stone with elbows, wrist locked to shooting height then immediately bringing it down. Repeat 5 times.
Physical Obstacles:
1. I have mentioned before that I am suffering from severe pain in my shooting hand (carpals), Forearms muscles and around elbow joint.
2. Yesterday, I took out my wife's air pistol, did one SOA, the pain was palpable in the elbow.
3. Hence the push ups to gradually increase the strength of my muscles which support the elbow, forearms and carpels.
4. I started my exercises a month ago, with only three push ups, I have now graduated to 10.
5. Yesterday, I attempted my first Biofeedback healing exercise after more than a decade.
Barring the above obstacles, I dont see any problem in qualifying. I have the time, blessed with a shooting range in my own backyard, the knowledge, the experience. I will be patient with my body, I will let it take its own time.
