Post by Pran » Fri Jul 12, 2019 7:49 am

Herewith the names of arms manufacturers who are licensed to manufacture firearms in India under the Arms Rules, 2016.

I will be posting a few more RTI responses on the legal aspects of Arms Rules in the coming days.

It was really disappointing to see the low quality pistol from Sheikh Arms, the first privately made handgun recently.

On the other side, atleast some change happened since 1986 from when import was banned.

One thing is not clear that whether these companies will be manufacturing for government or civilians or both.

Yes, this is the first change since 1986 ban.
I believe as the industry will mature quality will improve. But I doubt that any innovations will happen soon, most of the arms will be copies or licensed copies.
